We start with a full community day, designed to help you slow down, connect, and settle into the magic of coastal Maine. Think coffee in hand as we hike coastal trails with sweeping ocean views, conversations that go deeper than small talk, and ending the evening gathered around the table at a favorite local spot. Because nothing builds connection like salty air, good food, and shared stories.
And it doesn’t stop there. Throughout the retreat, you’ll find cozy s’mores nights and laid-back picnic hangs woven into the schedule. Because while the shoots and education are powerful, the best memories — and the truest friendships — are often made in the in-between moments.

We’ll all be staying in an amazing Airbnb in Harpswell, Maine, creating the perfect space to relax, connect, and unwind after each day’s adventures.

The Roam is open to all photographers, whether you’re just starting out or have been in the industry for years! The only requirement is that you know how to use your camera in manual mode. Our retreats and styled shoots are designed to help you grow—whether that’s building your portfolio, refining your brand, or leveling up your business strategy. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by a supportive community of like-minded creatives, no matter where you’re at in your journey! ✨📸

Absolutely! Anyone is welcome to join, but it’s important to know that The Roam is heavily focused on weddings/elopements. All of our styled shoots are wedding or couple-centered, and our education is tailored toward helping photographers grow successful wedding photography businesses. If you’re looking to break into weddings or add more couple-focused work to your portfolio, this could be a great opportunity! But if weddings aren’t your thing, just keep in mind that our content and shoots may not align with your primary focus. 🫶🏻✨

We focus on one storytelling shoot at a time, giving it the space it deserves. With only 10 attendees split into small groups, everyone gets the chance to connect with the couple and capture authentic moments without the rush.
Each shoot lasts around six hours, with intentional time for flat lays, invitation suites, and all the details that bring a gallery to life. Our goal is a well-paced, story-first experience that feels real while still leaving room for your creative freedom. ✨📸

Due to insurance restrictions, we aren’t able to provide transportation for attendees. However, we set up a large group chat before the retreat so everyone can coordinate! Typically, almost everyone ends up carpooling together, which makes it super easy to get around and is a great way to connect with other photographers.

Our ticket prices are based on the number of beds available in the lodging we book. If you’d like your own bed (which typically means your own room as well), you’ll need to purchase two full-price tickets. This is because we’d have to eliminate a spot to accommodate the bed count, ensuring fairness for all attendees. If you have any questions about lodging arrangements, feel free to reach out!

Yes! We offer a few discounts for attendees:
• Return Attendee Discount – $200 off for past attendees.
• Referral Discount – $100 off when you refer a friend who books.
• 5th Retreat Discount – 50% off when you attend your fifth Roam retreat!

I had the pleasure of attending my first ever photography retreat in the beautiful Santa Rosa, Florida, and I can honestly say it was an experience I’ll never forget. Hosted by the incredibly talented Dana and Bri, this retreat was nothing short of perfect from start to finish.
The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the retreat. The florals were absolutely stunning, adding a touch of natural beauty to every shot. Each location we visited was thoughtfully chosen, providing us with diverse and picturesque backdrops that truly elevated our photography.
The models were not only beautiful but also professional and easy to work with, making the shooting process smooth and enjoyable. Dana and Bri’s expertise in curating the perfect settings for our sessions was clear—they really know how to bring out the best in every photographer’s work.
One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to network with other photographers from around the world. It was inspiring to connect with so many talented individuals, exchange ideas, and learn from each other’s experiences. The sense of community was genuinely uplifting.

I invested in the Arizona retreat hosted by Dana and Bri, and I cannot say enough how AMAZING my experience was. Dana and Bri seriously put blood, sweat, and tears into this retreat. They truly went above and beyond to serve their attendee's to give us the best experience possible. They provided so much education which I am BEYOND grateful for as a new business owner. I have learned so so much from B+D and I am truly so thankful for them being so excited to share their knowledge and wisdom to help new photographer's like me grow. All of the styled shoots were insanely beautiful, the AirBNB we stayed at was jaw dropping, they even gave us goodie bags with merch which I thought was extremely sweet and thoughtful. Where do I start? I just got home from my 3rd Roam Retreat and it truly gets better every time. Bri + Dana pour their heart and soul into making these retreats not just about the photos but the community as well. This industry is so saturated with negativity but Bri + Dana do an amazing job of bringing some of the most creative and amazing people together. The education is always helpful and the guest speakers are incredible. I just learned so much about SEO and blogging this past week. The photos I get out of these retreats are always insane with amazing locations. It is truly one of the best things I have ever invested in for my business. "I HIGHLY recommend Roam for any retreat or workshop they put on. I have been to many styled content days and nothing compares to the planning and execution that Bri and Dana do! I went to the Oregon workshop and I was thoroughly impressed how their mood boards actually come to life, the locations they chose were amazing and full of variety, and we had so much fun learning and shooting together. They do a great job of making sure everyone gets time to photograph in the center, they choose amazing vendors/dresses, and goodness I could just go on and on. I will for sure be going back to another one in the future. If you're on the fence, you won't regret all of the education and content you'll gain. Not to mention - friends for life! "
"This was my first workshop I have ever attended and it could not have gone any better! Seriously, my expectations for any other workshops I attend in the future by other hosts other than the Roam is SUPER HIGH! The amount of hard work and creativity that went to each educational portion of the workshop, the styled shoots (so many styled shoots!), and even into choosing the Airbnb we were staying was absolutely amazing. I have so much content to help me book dream clients for locations I am hoping to market to. But, the biggest takeaway from this workshop has to be the friendships I have gained. WOW! I honestly don't even know how to begin with this review--the retreat I did with Roam was truly unforgettable...literally cried of joy multiple times and then cried again at our goodbyes. I learned SO much, took some of the best photos of my career, and most importantly, I made connections and friendships with incredible photographers from across the country (and Canada!). It was obvious from day one that Dana and Bri put in so much work to make this experiencing as enriching as possible, and after my first day, I had already decided to go on their next retreat. Couldn't recommend this experience more for any photographer (at any point in their career) looking to get the ultimate creative reset. The investment is worth it---seriously do it!
